UNIFEM Gulfcoast Chapter

Creating a world where women live free from poverty, violence, and inequality.

UNIFEM, the women's fund at the United Nation, supports women and girls by providing financial and technical assistance to projects that foster the development of women's economic security, promote women's human rights, and increase women's participation in decision-making processes that shape their lives.

UNIFEM is unique in its success at both aiding grassroots groups in developing the skills to advocate for social change while engaging governments in dialogues to revise national budgets to strengthen programs benefiting women and girls. UNIFEM provides leadership within the United Nations and for women around the world by advocating for the elimination of violence against women, by speaking out for increased roles in peace building, and by working to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Since its inception UNIFEM has established itself as a leader in the pursuit of human rights by funding innovative initiatives for women around the world. Your commitment to membership in UNIFEM/USA//GCC CHAPTER will make a difference in the lives of women in over 100 countries.

Chartered in 1983, UNIFEM/USA, one of 19 National Committees worldwide, is committed to expanding support within the United States for UNIFEM's mission through local chapters and an Advisory Council of national leaders.
